Paul Daniels Box Levitation
A large cardboard box is shown to be empty and a knife is thrust through the sides to show that they really are cardboard. The Magician gets inside the box and picks up a curtain (the video shows how Paul comes up with a 'reason' for this) and then the Magician rises WAY up into the air.
It can be performed surrounded and it can be brought onto the stage and taken off again without revealing any of its secrets.
This 'bare bones' description really does not convey the effect this illusion has on an audience, who remember it for a long time after they have forgotten other items in the act.
No... it's not mirrors and it is a unique method. It will take the weight of a performer UP TO 19 STONE!!!
After a lot of practice I managed to perform the illusion to my satisfaction...even with the long legs :-)
The act even almost made it to the finals of Belgium's Got Talent...but I got stuck in the semi-finals where the audience at home voted more for a 11 year old singing girl...too hard to compete with, although I got huge reactions for my act. So I am happy anyway :-))
I showed my presentation of the levitation to the TV-people and they were blown away...they even tried to convince me to bring this in the semi-finals, but I wanted to bring the act with my daughter first.
But from tomorrow on I will include the box in my shows and I really love to perform this.
So thank you once again for a great invention and all the inspiration throughout the years!
We make this illusion to order and that can take up to three weeks.
